A natural treasure house, this village is close to Sajipo (Korea Natural Monument No. 524), the Upo wetland prickly waterlily habitat. It was chosen as a Rural Traditional Theme Community in 2006, a Resort Town by the Rural-Urban Promotion Act in 2011, and a Farming and Fishing Village Inseong School/Talent Agency/Career Center in 2016. Every May, the village hosts the Changpo Festival around Dano to heal the mind and body. It also develops local products (chestnuts, changpo, plantains) using the natural resources near Upo wetland.

The breathing sound of Upo Wetland is harmonized with the chorus of animals and flowers at the ecological repository, Upo Village. It offers various farming activities and rests with its beautiful nature and fine tradition.
