In Bitdolbaegi Village, there is a small hill filled with stones called 'bitdol' and 'baegi', pure Korean words meaning 'below.' Therefore the village formed below the hill is Bitdolbaegi Village. The village was formed in the Bronze Age, around the 2nd Century B.C. and is the birthplace of Korean Peninsula ironware culture. It is also the first place that engaged in foreign trade, started a trial plantation for Jungno Tea, and ancestral ritual culture. Since brushes and a knife for monks have been excavated, it is believed that writing started here. The village has great historical value as it is designated Historical Monument No. 327 and has been in the process of building a Wetland Museum since 1988. Deahan Ochehyang Village is located in close vicinity to downtown Changwon. In front of the village lies the Guryongsan Mountain known for the nine dragons ascending to heaven. Its representative local product is the sweet persimmon cultivated on a mountainside where the great temperature difference makes it high in sugar and very juicy. These eco-friendly sweet persimmons are distributed to farmers markets, superstores and department stores.
