Experience Resort Village

Baenaegol Jangseon Hyu Village

The name Baenaegol comes from the location where wild pear trees grow near the clean small stream. This village boasts a marvelous view because it has not been opened to the public due to the rugged mountain terrain. Located at the foot of Yeongchwisan Mountain, the town is one of the country's few clean environments and will give comfort for those tired of city life. Along with a spectacular view of the sunset, Type 1 Water runs from Ulsan to Yangsan and connects back to Miryang, making visitors come back for a second time. You can also find rare species of fish which only live in Type 1 Water, such as freshwater fish, swiri, Korean torrent catfish, catfish, crawfish, and marsh snail. Local products include maple in the spring, Japanese apricot in the summer, and apple in the fall.

Seon-ri Baenaegol Apple Village

Seonri Village is located in Wondong-myeon, Yangsan City and is known as the Alps of Yeongnam region. After the construction of the Miryang Dam, the drinking water source of Yangsan, Miryang, and Changnyeong, the village was designated as a Water Supply Source Protection Zone. It is a pollution-free clean area and it is called 'Icheondong' or Baenaegol in pure Korean because of the wild pear trees that grow near the valley stream that comes from the mountain peaks (above 1,000m) of Gajisan, Yeongchwisan, and Sinbulsan mountains. Some say the name comes from the pear-like shape of the town. Seonri Village is the administrative center of Baenaegol and consists of a 60,000 pyeong area of apple cultivation. Half out of the 100 households are members of the Green Village. It hosts many events of cultural exchange between the city and the countryside, including the Maple Festival in the spring, Dano Festival in June, and Apple Festival in the first week of November. Their main local product, apples, are high in sugar and have a unique crispiness only seen in Baenaegol due to the high altitude and large temperature difference between day and night. Every year, a total of 300 tons of apples are picked from Apple Picking Experience and then sold to consumers through its own sales channel. In particular, as part of the Farming Village Experience Program, the village leases apple trees by the year and it is managed by the farmhouse (leaser) and harvested by their clients.
